I was a career bureaucrat (IAS in Odisha Cadre , 1980). Retired as Secretary to Government of India and then came back to my alma mater IIT Bombay, as a full time faculty – a very agreeable Ghar Waapsi!

I coordinate the health and nutrition group at CTARA and the RuTAG (Rural Technology Action Group) activities.

I write satire, both prose and poetry, in Hindi and English. These chronicle our times. I also prepare cross words in Hindi, which I intend doing more regularly (one of the many new year resolutions!).

Dear all, I had a small role in the propagation of menstrual cups with help of Dr Anitha Thampi former CTARA student, from an initial CSR support for 5000 cups during Kerala floods of 2018, to now 500,000 cups.
These cups significantly reduce carbon footprints, compared to the option of pad+incineration and are of help to waste handlers. Incidentally these are very useful for women in their menstrual hygiene.
